Duties: Responsible for overseeing all Brand New Day, Inc. staff and projects.
Reports to BND's Board of Directors.

  • Professional Certificate -- NeighborWorks® Center for Homeownership Education and Counseling (NCHEC)*. Certified Homeownership educator. The newly formed Center meets the nationwide homeownership education and counseling standards and offers national curriculum and certification. Placed base training sponsored by Neighborworks America & Citigroup

Vera Atkinson – Assistant Executive Director

Full time employee

Duties: Responsible for assisting the Executive Director, overseeing all the fundraising, and developing and nurturing relationships with funders and other organizations. Reports to Executive Director.

  • Professional Certificate - National Association of Homeownership Counselors and NPRC. Certification is in Homeownership Counseling (Pre-Purchase, Post-Purchase and Tenant Counseling)

Zoe Gaby – Project Developer

Full time employee

Duties: Responsible for overseeing and conducting new Brand New Day projects and obtaining properties to rehabilitate or construct. Reports to Executive Director.

  • Professional Certificate in Construction and Production Management. One of the first graduates of this four year program sponsored by Neighborhood Reinvestment Corp.
  • Professional Certificate -- National Association of Homeownership Counselors and NPRC. Certification is in Homeownership Counseling (Pre-Purchase, Post-Purchase and Tenant Counseling)

Penny Meredith – Community Education Coordinator

Full time employee

Duties: Coordinates and facilitates Brand New Day’s Adult Financial Literacy and Homebuyer Education classes, Homeownership and foreclosure prevention counseling, Youth Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship Program, and offers organizing support for community events and meetings as well as neighborhood organizing groups. Reports to Executive Director.

Duties: Responsible for managing long term capital needs of existing buildings; assisting Project Developer with assessing adequate financial projections for new projects; and all issues related to preservation and efficiency of our assets.
Reports to Executive Director.
